Inc., an emerging force in design and manufacturing of photonic
and integrated optic modules, today announced their purchase of
the intellectual property (IP) and assets of San Jose, Calif.-based
PowerNetix Inc. The purchase includes PowerNetix Unilineä packaging
technology, optical manufacturing fixtures, and all PowerNetix’s
pending and existing patents.
PowerNetix Inc. is best known for producing pump lasers. Their
980-nm 9000 Series laser modules are qualified according to the
Telcordia GR-486-CORE standard, the industry’s most stringent
reliability test. PowerNetix’s existing customer base of
companies in the telecom, cable television, and industrial sectors
span geographies including North America, Europe, Africa, and Asia.
