General Description

The EM600 integrates a high power fiber coupled DFB laser with both laser current/power control and temperature stabilization. It represents a convenient and easy to use OEM solution for fiber coupled high power DFB lasers operating with excellent frequency stability, low noise and stable polarization. The module contains a high power DFB laser, optical isolator and single mode fiber pigtail. The module is built around a CW DFB multi-quantum well (MQW) laser diode. The product contains a cooler, thermistor, monitor detector, current source, temperature controller, and monitor detector readout amplifiers all operating from a single 5V supply. The power adjust input is available with either low or high bandwidth and can be used for SBS prevention, for constant power operation in conjunction with the monitor detector readout signal, or for dithering the laser oscillation frequency. The module is designed and built using EM4s high-reliability platform for defense components.

The EM600 driver is also capable of being integrated with all of our 14 pin packaged single mode products.
